Mr. Jamal Akhtar, Advocate accepts notice for Mr. Rahul Mehra, the learned Standing Counsel (Crl.) for the State. The petitioner seeks police protection as he apprehends threat to his life, limb and liberty. In the circumstances, let this petition be treated as his representation by the Station House Officer of Police Station Chitranjan Park, New Delhi, who shall interact with the petitioner to assess the threat perception at 4'O clock this afternoon, and if necessary accord him due protection forthwith. It is directed that telephone numbers of two police officers of the area concerned, whose number shall be operational, be provided to the petitioner, and in case of any exigency intimated by him, it shall be attended to promptly.
