The petitioners have filed the present petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for quashing of FIR No.448/2013 under Sections 354-A/506/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 („IPC‟), registered at Police Station Jafrabad, Delhi and the proceedings emanating therefrom.

The petitioners as well as respondent No.2 submitted that they have amicably settled their matter in terms of Settlement Deed dated 18.10.2018 on their own free will, without any force or coercion. 3.

Learned counsel for the respondent No.2, who has been appointed by the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee, has also verified from the respondent No.2 that the matter between the

parties stands settled on their own free will, without any force or coercion.

Learned counsel for the parties submitted that in view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, the parties may be given a chance to live life happily and peacefully. Respondent No.2 has even got married on 11.1.2018 after the settlement arrived at between the parties. The learned counsel for the parties further submitted that in view of the settlement deed executed between the parties, the present petition may be allowed and the FIR may be quashed. 5.

Learned APP for the State, on instructions from the IO, has identified the parties and has also verified about the settlement. Learned APP for the State further submitted that he has no objection if the petition is allowed.

In view of the aforesaid circumstances and the settlement arrived at between the parties, this Court is of the view that no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the parties entangled in the criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No.448/2013 under Sections 354-A/506/509/34 of the IPC, registered at Police Station Jafrabad, Delhi and the proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in above terms.
