Mr. Rahul Mehra, Standing Counsel (Crl.) has handed over a Status Report prepared by the SHO, P.S. Govind Puri, New Delhi stating inter alia that an enquiry is being conducted in the matter and in the course thereof. The police officers had visited the petitioner's house. During the said enquiry, she had stated that she does not have any paper relating to her husband's missing report, lodged by her. She had however handed over a copy of her Aadhar Card and that of her children to the police, which it is stated that will not serve any purpose to trace Shri Hukum Singh, the petitioner's husband.

We may note that as per the petitioner, her husband had deserted her sometime in the year 2011, under the influence of his family members and is not traceable thereafter.

We have enquired from the petitioner, who is present in Court, as to whether she has a copy of the missing report, lodged at P.S. Govind Puri. She states that the same is untraceable. Mr. Mehra, SC (Crl.) states, on instructions, that they have checked records at P.S. Govind Puri and no such missing report was lodged.

The matter was passed over on the first call as the petitioner's counsel was not present.

At this stage, Mr. Ali Abbas, learned counsel for the petitioner enters appearance and states that he has perused the Status Report. He submits that he may be permitted to withdraw the present petition while reserving the right of the petitioner to take appropriate legal recourse in respect of her husband and her-in-laws, as may be available. 6.
