% 01.02.2018 The petitioners seek quashing of the present FIR No.686/2016 registered under Sections 498-A/406 read with Section 34 of the IPC at Police Station Sangam Vihar on the complaint of respondent No. 2. Respondent No. 2 is present and her presence has been identified by the Investigating Officer as also by her counsel. Parties i.e. petitioner No.1 and respondent No. 2 had been married on 27.04.2014 according to personal law. They have now been divorced in terms of their personal law on 20.01.2018. Parties had arrived at a wholesome settlement in terms of which petitioner No.1 had agreed to pay Rs. 80,000/- to respondent No. 2 in full and final settlement of all her claim of which the entire amount stands paid. This settles the dispute between the parties.
This is a fit case where to secure the ends of justice, it would be in the interest of things that proceedings in the present FIR be quashed. Accordingly FIR No.686/2016 registered under Sections 498-A/406 read with Section 34 of the IPC at Police Station Sangam Vihar and all proceedings emanating thereto are quashed. Petition disposed of.
