By this petition the petitioners seek quashing of FIR No. 239/2015 under Section 365/34 IPC registered at PS Lajpat Nagar, Delhi on the complainant of respondent No. 3 on the ground that parties have settled the matter.

Learned ASC for the State on instructions states that in the above noted FIR, petitioner Nos. 1, 3 to 6 are accused and Petitioner No. 2 has not been arrayed as accused. He further states that respondent No. 3 is the complainant of above noted FIR and respondent No. 2 the victim.

Respondent Nos. 2 and 3 are present in court and identified by the Investigating Officer. They state that the above noted FIR was registered after the respondent Nos. 2 and 3 married contrary to the wishes of the petitioners and the respondent No. 2 was taken back to her parental home. They state that they have now reconciled the differences and the petitioners are not interfering in their happy married life and respondent Nos. 2 and 3 do not wish to pursue the above noted FIR and the proceedings thereto. Petitioner Nos. 1, 3 to 6 as well as petitioner No. 2 are present in Court and are identified by the learned counsel. They state that the family has now reconciled the marriage of respondent No. 2 to respondent No. 3 and they would not interfere in the happy married life of respondent No. 2 and 3.

They also affirm the statements of respondent Nos. 2 and 3. In view of the fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, volition and without any coercion and no useful purpose will be served in continuance of the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them, it would be in the interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question.

Consequently, FIR No. 239/2015 under Section 365/34 IPC registered at PS Lajpat Nagar, Delhi and proceedings pursuant thereto are hereby quashed. Parties have signed this order sheet in acknowledgment of their statements made before this Court.

Petition is disposed of.
