% 23.01.2018 Crl. M.A. No.1339/2018, Crl. M.A. No.1340/2018 in W.P.(CRL) 237/2018 Petitioner seeks quashing of the present FIR No. 6/12. The FIR No. 6/12 has been registered under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC and Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act. The complainant is respondent No. 2 who is present in person. The fact that the parties have settled their disputes has been endorsed by both the petitioners and respondent No. 2. Parties have also been divorced by a decree of mutual consent dated 26.10.2017. In terms of the settlement arrived at inter se the parties, a sum of Rs 70,000/- already stands paid to respondent No. 2 and another sum of Rs. 60,000/- has been paid to respondent No. 2 in court today. The presence of the complainant has

been identified by the investigating officer. This court is accordingly of the view that the prayer made in the petition needs to be granted as no fruitful purpose would be served in continuing with this proceeding and it would only be an exercise in futility. Accordingly, FIR No. 6/12 registered under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC and Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act and all proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition disposed of in the above terms.
