Learned APP accepts notice for respondent no. 1.

Respondent no.2 Ms. Suman is present in Court and accepts notice. She has been identified by SI Ramesh Kumar of police station Sultan Puri. Respondent no.2 submits that she has settled the matter with the petitioner no. 5 (husband) of her own free will and without any undue force, pressure or coercion before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Rohini District Courts, Delhi on 16th May, 2018. Respondent no. 2 submits that first motion has been accepted by the Family Courts.

Counsels for petitioners and respondent no. 2 submit that second motion will be filed in due course.

Respondent no. 2 submits she has no objection in case FIR is quashed against the petitioner no. 5 and his relatives, that is, petitioner nos. 1 to 4 and 6.

Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the petitioners and respondent no. 2 voluntarily, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR no. 585/2001 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Sultan Puri and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in the above terms. Miscellaneous applications are disposed of as infructuous. Dasti.
