% 03.01.2018 1.
The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, seeking enhanced compensation of `10 lacs on account of the cost incurred by the petitioner on surgeries and treatment.
2.
It is the petitioner's case that she was a victim of an attack by one Mr Ravi, who is alleged to have poured petrol on the petitioner and lit her on fire.
3.
The petitioner has already been granted `3 lacs in terms of the Delhi Victim Compensation Scheme, 2015. The petitioner now claims that she is entitled to further compensation as she has incurred substantial expenditure
on medical treatment and reconstruction surgery. The petitioner also claims that she had made an application to District Legal Services Authority (hereafter 'DLSA') for enhanced compensation, but has not received any response from the said authority.
4.
In view of the above, DLSA is directed to consider the petitioner's request and take an appropriate decision.
5.
The petitioner also states that the accused has been acquitted of the alleged offence. In light of the above, DLSA is also requested to examine the matter and take that into account while considering the petitioner's request for enhanced compensation.
6.
The petition and the application are disposed of with the aforesaid directions.
