% 17.01.2019 It is submitted that petitioner and respondent no. 2 are friends. quarrel took place between them on some trivial issues, wherein petitioner stabbed respondent no. 2 resulting in simple injuries to respondent no. 2, which led to registration of FIR no.176/2018 under Sections 307/34 IPC at police station Najaf Garh. With the interventions of their common friends and family members, matter has been settled between the petitioner and respondent no. 2. It is submitted that petitioner is in custody for more than six months. Respondent no. 2 is present in Court and has been identified by SI G.R. Meena of police station Najaf Garh. Respondent no. 2 says that he

has settled the matter with petitioner of his own free will, voluntarily and without any undue force, pressure or coercion and he has no objection in case FIR and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed against the petitioner.

Keeping in view that quarrel took place between friends, wherein petitioner in a fit of rage stabbed respondent no. 2 resulting in simple injuries to him and now that they have settled the disputes amicably, inasmuch as petitioner has already suffered incarceration for more than six months, I am of the view that it is a fit case where FIR can be quashed. In the interest of justice, aforesaid FIR and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Petitioner be released from jail, if not required in any other case.

Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
