The present is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying as follows:- "A.

Issue a writ, order and/or direction in the nature of Mandamus and/or any other appropriate writ, order and/or direction in the like nature in favour of the petitioner and against the respondents thereby directing the respondents No.1 to 3 to protect the lives and properties of

the petitioner and her husband from the hands of the respondents No.4 to 6 and their associates, who are bent upon to kill the petitioner and her husband and to provide them all sorts of assistance and help to enable them to lead a happy married life;

B.

The respondents No.4 to 6 and their associates may also be restrained from entering the house of the petitioner and from creating any hindrance in the peaceful matrimonial lives of the petitioner and from causing any harm and injury to the petitioner as well as her husband." 2.

Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner limits the relief in the present petition to the issuance of a direction to the police to provide protection to the petitioner and her husband who are a newly married couple. 3.

Ms. Megha Bahl, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Mr. Avi Singh, learned Additional Standing Counsel (Criminal) accepts notice on behalf of the official respondent and fairly does not oppose this petition in view of the circumstance that the petitioner Deepika Bansal, who is an adult, has married Prem Chand, of her own free will and desire.

In view of the directions that are proposed to be issued and the circumstance that no orders are being passed against the respondent Nos.4 to 6, it is neither just nor necessary to issue notice to the said respondents. 6.

Ms. Bahl, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Mr. Avi Singh, learned Additional Standing Counsel (Criminal) states that the SHO of the concerned Police Station shall provide adequate protection to the petitioner and her husband. The beat constable of the concerned area shall also be sensitized in this behalf. The telephone number of the SHO of the concerned police station as well as the beat constable shall be provided to the petitioner and her husband in order to enable them to contact the former in the event of any threat or apprehension.

Ordered accordingly.

With above directions the writ petition is disposed of. The pending application also stands disposed of.
