This public interest petition has been filed with a prayer to direct the respondents to comply with the Circular dated 28.08.2000 issued by the Union of India, Ministry of Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation regarding the removal of unauthorized encroachments and illegal constructions in Delhi. 2.
On behalf of the South Delhi Municipal Corporation, a detailed status report has been filed on 14.01.2016 by the Executive Engineer, Division - II, Building Department, South Zone explaining the steps that are in progress for removal of the objectionable structures and stating that the objectionable structures would be removed following due process of law. The stand taken by the SDMC has not been disputed by the petitioner.
