This Writ Petition as a Public Interest Litigation has been filed assailing the action of the respondents in changing the name of Metro Station „Badli Mor‟ to „Haiderpur‟.

A short affidavit has been filed on behalf of respondents No.1 and 4 explaining the circumstances under which change of name of the Metro Station has been affected and it would be appropriate to extract Para 5, which reads as under:

"5. It is stated that the said metro station is a new station, which is a part of the metro Phase-III project, extending the "Yellow Line" to "Samaypur Badli". It is further stated that the said metro station has recently been made operational with effect from 10.11.2015. It is further stated herein that taking into consideration the sentiments of the people in the area, the Hon‟ble Chief Minister during the inauguration of the said metro station has announced that henceforth the name of the station shall be "Haiderpur Badli Mor".

It is also brought to our notice by the learned standing counsel for the respondents that in pursuance of the statement of the Chief Minister, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation passed an order renaming the metro station in question as Haiderpur Badli Mor. A copy of the letter dated 17.11.2015 addressed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation informing the said fact to the Transport Department, GNCTD and requesting their formal approval has been placed before this Court.

In the above noticed facts and circumstances, it is not necessary to keep the petition any longer.
