The petitioner has moved the present petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for quashing of FIR No.1270/2016, under Sections 279/337 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, registered at PS:Jamia Nagar, Delhi and the proceedings emanating therefrom.

Learned counsel for the petitioner as well as respondent No.2 submitted that the parties have settled their disputes, on their own free will, without any force, pressure or coercion, vide Compromise Deed dated 4.1.2017 and no grievance of whatsoever nature is left against each other. 3.

The Investigating Officer („IO‟), who is present in Court, has identified the petitioner as well as respondent No.2 and has also verified the Compromise Deed arrived at between the

parties.

Respondent No.2 reiterated and submitted that the settlement has been effected on his own free will, without any force, pressure or coercion. He further submitted that since, in terms of the Compromise Deed, he has received the settlement amount of Rs.1,20,000/-, he has no objection to the petition being allowed and the quashing of the FIR.

In view of the aforesaid circumstances, the Compromise Deed arrived at between the parties and the payment received by the respondent No.2, this Court is of the view that no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the parties entangled in the criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 1270/2016, under Sections 279/337 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, registered at PS:Jamia Nagar, Delhi and the proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in above terms.
