By way of this writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of Cr.P.C., petitioner is praying for grant of furlough for a period of three weeks on the ground of re-connecting social ties with the family & society.

Status report on behalf of the State has been filed which is to the following effect:- "This is in reference to the captioned subject. In this regard, it is to inform you that the Competent Authority has declined the application for grant of 1st spell of furlough to the convict Surjeet @ Bittu S/o sh. Daya Ram as the convict has jumped the parole granted on 7th March, 2009 and was re-arrested in another case on 20th November, 2010. The said convict is involved in multiple offences and police has strongly opposed the grant of furlough, apprehending that he may jump the furlough."

In the given facts and circumstances, the prayer of the Petitioner seeking furlough is declined.

Writ petition is hereby dismissed.

The Petitioner be informed through concerned Jail Superintendent about the orders passed.
