The limited prayer in this writ petition is for extension of the last date of admission of Students to the BAMS Course being conducted by the petitioner till 31st December, 2018.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he has served an advance copy of the application through a courier at the address of the respondent nos. 3 and 4 and the proof thereof has been filed at page 131 of the paper book.

Mr. Rajesh Kumar, learned counsel appears for respondent no.1. None has appeared on behalf of University (Respondent No.3).

The petitioner/college was granted permission to admit 60 students to the BAMS Course being conducted for the academic year 2018-19. Owing to some confusion regarding the requirement of qualifying the NEET exam as a pre-condition to the admission to the BAMS Course, the admission process was delayed. On account of this, the petitioner/college could not fill the seats in time. A Writ Petition bearing WP(C) No.13456/2018 was filed in this Court seeking extension of date for admission of the students till 20th December, 2018. The said petition was allowed by an order dated 18.12.2018 and this Court had extended the date for the admission up to 20th December, 2018 in the overall interest of securing admission to a large number of students. The present petition has been filed seeking extension of date for admission up to 31st December, 2018. 7.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that delay in admission had occurred owing to the fact that Notification was issued by the University only on 20.12.2018 and thus the petitioner/college has been able to grant admission only to 19 students while 24 seats out of the 60 seats to BAMS Course are still lying vacant.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner, I am of the opinion that the petition deserves to be allowed in the larger interest of the education and the admission of the students. The last date effecting admissions to BAMS Course for the academic year 2018-19 thus stands extended till 31st December, 2018.

The petition along with the application stands disposed of in the above terms.
