Petitioner and the respondent No.2 are present in the Court and stated that a settlement was arrived at between them on 26.12.2018 on their own free will, without any force or coercion in terms whereof the petitioner has already made a payment of Rs.2,20,000/- vide Demand Draft bearing No.012846 dated 26.12.2018 drawn on HDFC Bank as a full and final settlement amount.

Petitioner and respondent No.2 further stated that they shall remain bound by the terms and conditions of the aforesaid settlement. In this case, it has already been ordered on 28.12.2018 that in view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 is compounded and the petitioner is acquitted.

It has also been ordered on 28.12.2018 that the petitioner be released from the jail, if not required in any other case.

In view of the aforesaid statement as well as the order passed on 28.12.2018, the petition is disposed of.
