% 07.10.2016 This is a petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No.442/2013 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at PS Kalyan Puri, Delhi. It is stated that the matter has been settled amicably between the parties before Mediation Centre, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi vide settlement agreement dated 27.06.2014.
Complainant/ respondent No.2 is present before the Court and is identified by the Investigating Officer. I have enquired from her whether the matter has been settled with the petitioners amicably without fear and pressure. She has stated that the matter has been settled without any fear or pressure and that the petitioners have handed over FDR No.36161480837
dated 05.10.2016 in the sum of Rs.2,32,164/- to her. Since the matter has been settled between the parties and the divorce by mutual consent has already been granted vide decree dated 07.11.2014, no useful purpose will be served to continue with the proceedings under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC. In the interest of justice and to enable the parties to settle in life after divorce, FIR No.442/2013 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at PS Kalyan Puri, Delhi and all the proceedings arising therefrom are quashed.
The petition is disposed of accordingly.
