By way of this writ petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of Cr.P.C., petitioners are praying for issuance of directions to the police to provide protection to the petitioners and their family members from respondent No.3. 2.

Status report on behalf of the State has been filed. 3.

None has appeared on behalf of the respondent No.3. 4.

On behalf of the State, it is submitted that mobile number of concerned beat constable/SHO has been provided to the petitioners and till date no call has been made by them apprehending threat to their life and property. It is further submitted that alternative remedy under Section 156(3) Cr.P.C. has already been availed by the petitioner No.2. 5.

It has been submitted on behalf of the State that as and when the

petitioners apprehend any threat to their life and property they are at liberty to make call to the concerned SHO/Beat Constable and which shall be promptly attended.

In view of the status report nothing survives for consideration in this writ petition and the same is hereby dismissed. PRATIBHA RANI, J.
