Present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No.590/2007 under Sections 498A/406 IPC at PS Shalimar Bagh. It is stated that the matter has been settled amicably with the complainant / respondent No.2 vide MOU dated 20.05.2015. 2.
Complainant / respondent No.2 is present with her counsel and has been identified by the Investigating Officer. I have enquired from the complainant if she has settled the dispute with the petitioners amicably without any fear or pressure. She has informed that all the disputes between the parties have been resolved amicably with her free consent and she has no objection to the quashing of the FIR in question. Pursuant to the settlement arrived at between the parties, a CRL.M.C. 5001/2015
sum of `28 lacs (by way of two demand drafts bearing No.824919 and 814706 dated 07.05.2016 and 10.05.2016 respectively drawn on Syndicate Bank in the name of the complainant) has been given to the complainant in the Court today.

The petition is supported by affidavits of the parties. Copy of MOU dated 20.05.2015 has been placed on record. Since the matter has been settled between the parties and divorce by mutual consent has already been granted vide decree dated 22.07.2011, no useful purpose will be served to continue with the proceedings under Sections 498A/406 IPC. In the interest of justice and to enable the parties to settle in life after divorce, FIR No.590/2007 under Sections 498A/406 IPC at PS Shalimar Bagh and all the proceedings arising therefrom are quashed.

The petitioners are directed to deposit `25,000/- as costs in the Prime Minister Relief Fund within two weeks. Registry shall ensure its compliance.

The petition stands disposed of accordingly.
