This petition has been filed by the petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of directions to the police to protect them from her parents, Respondent Nos. 3 and 4 herein. 2.

Status report has been filed by the State which is to the following effect:- "It is submitted that present petitioner Ishita Verma D/o Sh.Sunil Kumar is residing in the area of police station Samaipur Badli, Delhi along for the last 6-7 months. She has been contacted by the beat staff and was provided that mobile numbers of ACP, SHO, ATO, Beat Staff apart from the phone number of Police Station and women help to contact in case of emergency. She also informed that she is in regular touch with her parents and have no threat at her residence. It is further submitted that beat staff have been directed to keep in touch with the petitioner and take all possible steps to ensure the safety and security of Ishita Verma. W.P.(CRL) 2954/2015

The Petitioner, who is present in person, submits that she is in regular contact with her parents and does not apprehend threat from them but their behaviour towards her is not good.

Mr.Rajesh Mahajan, learned Addl. Standing Counsel for the State submits that though as per status report at present there is no element of threat to petitioner, still State is ready to provide protection to the petitioner through Beat Staff in future, if there is any threat to her from the respondent Nos.3 and 4.

Petitioner submits that she does not feel insecure in view of the steps taken by the State to provide protection to her. 6.

In view of the aforesaid assurance given by the State, nothing further remains to be considered in this petition and the same is disposed of with direction to provide protection to the petitioner as and when required. Order dasti.
