The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner praying for issuance of directions to the respondent to provide protection to him and his family members in view of life threats extended by different terrorist organizations.

The grievance of the petitioner is that despite having serious threat to his life, he has not been provided with adequate security. The petitioner also claims that as receiving threatening letters despite the matter being brought to the notice of all the concerned authorities, till date he has not been provided with proper security. Rather despite threat to his life and family, the security which was provided earlier to him has been withdrawn on 29th October, 2015 without assigning any reason.

Notice of the petition was issued to the State. Detailed status report along with Threat Assessment Report has been filed by the State to which rejoinder has also been filed by the petitioner. 4.

Mr. Rahul Mehra, Standing Counsel for the State has drawn the attention of this Court to the letter dated 9th October, 2015 of Additional Dy. Commissioner of Police, South East Delhi, New Delhi, which is to the following effect:

"No.5150/AC-1/HAC/SED, dated New Delhi, The 9/10/2015 To Jathedar Sh. Kuldeep Singh Bhogal R/o H.No. 11, Hari Nagar Ashram New Delhi 110014.

Subject:- Regarding providing security to Jathedar Sh.

Kuldeep Singh Bhogal, National Organizing Secy., Shiromani Akali Dal (BADAL), R/o H.No. 11, Hari Nagar Ashram, New Delhi-110014.

Sir, Please refer to your letter No. Nil dated 19.1.2015 (copy enclosed), on the subject cited above.

In this regard it is stated that an enquiry into the matter was got conducted by ACP/New Friends Colony, New Delhi. During enquiry it revealed that there is no any specific threat from any terrorist outfit/gangster. However, in view the present threat perception/apprehension and orders of Hon'ble Court, one beat constable has been deployed for your safety & security at your residence in the area of police station Sunlight Colony. The SHO/Division Officer/beat Staff of PS Sunlight Colony have been directed to keep sharp vigil nearby your residence and remain in tough with you. The ERV and motor-cycle patrolling staff have also been sensitized regarding the apprehension.

Status report as well as Threat Assessment Report filed by the State makes it clear that depending upon the threat perception from time to time, required measures were taken to provide security to the petitioner. 6.

In view of the above, no direction is required to be issued in this writ petition and the same is hereby dismissed.
