The respondents have been produced in custody pursuant to our last order. They state that they cannot afford the services of a private lawyer and they may be assigned an amicus curiae to represent them.

We, therefore, appoint Ms. Inderjeet Sidhu, Advocate who is present in court as an amicus curiae to assist the respondents in this case.

She shall be paid fees by the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee.

She prays for some time to examine the matter.

We are informed that the respondent no.2-Arjun has filed Crl.A.1588/2015.

Respondent no.1-Malkeet Singh submits that he had no legal assistance and was, therefore, not able to file an appeal against his conviction. Ms. Sidhu has assured that appropriate steps would be taken in this regard as well.
