The impugned order passed by the Central Information Commission (CIC) was stayed by this Court on 22.12.2015 and the interim order was made absolute on 25.02.2016.

Learned counsel for the petitioner and the private respondent i.e. respondent no.2, fairly concedes that the issue involved herein is answered against the private respondent and in favour of the petitioner. would mean that the deemed universities are not covered under the definition of public authority as envisaged under Section 2(h)(d) of the Right to Information Act, 2005 (RTI Act). The impugned order is, therefore, set aside.
