% 08.08.2016 This writ petition has been preferred by the petitioner to seek a direction to the Delhi Police to remove his name from the list of bad character and not to create hindrance in his peaceful life. The submission of the petitioner is that he has been acquitted in all the four cases in which he was involved and the last acquittal was in respect of case FIR No. 111/01 under Sections 288/304A IPC registered at police station Uttam Nagar, Delhi, vide order dated 18.02.2015. He submits that despite the petitioner having a clean record thereafter, he has been harassed and being called to the local police station for no rhyme or reason. The petitioner seeks that his name should be removed from the list of Bad Characters of that area.
The status report filed by the State shows that on 08.02.2016 i.e. after filing of the present writ petition, the DCP/NE has downgraded the name of the petitioner from Bundle A (Active BC) of History sheet to Bundle B (Silent BC) and his surveillance has also been stopped. In view of the aforesaid, the grievance of the petitioner stands redressed. Mr. Lao submits that unless he is required in any other fresh case on specific information, the petitioner shall not be called by the police. The said statement is taken on record.
The petition stands disposed of.
