Petitioner is aggrieved by the order of Joint Collector, Visakhapatnam, in rejecting to grant ryotwari patta under Section 11 (a) of the Andhra Pradesh (Andhra Area) Estates (Abolition & Conversions into Ryotwari) Act, 1948. Aggrieved thereby, petitioner preferred an appeal before the Special Commissioner & Director of Survey Settlements, Andhra Pradesh on 19.01.2017. Alleging inaction on the said appeal, this writ petition is filed. 3.

The appeal does not contain any acknowledgment of receipt of such appeal.

Having regard to the same, without expressing any opinion on merits, the Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the Special Commissioner and Director of Survey and Settlements, Vijayawada (2nd respondent) to examine the appeal filed by the petitioner, if the same is received by him and pass appropriate orders, by following the due procedure as required, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four (4) months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
