This writ petition is filed seeking a direction to dispose of the appeal preferred by the petitioner before the appellate authority. 2.
Counsel for the petitioner submits that the disciplinary authority has imposed punishment of deferment of annual grade increment for a period of one year with cumulative effect vide orders dated 14.11.2017 and aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has preferred an appeal before the appellate authority on 19.01.2018, but the appellate authority has not passed any orders on the said appeal. Counsel for the petitioner further submits that appropriate orders be passed in the writ petition directing the appellate authority to dispose of the appeal preferred by the petitioner within a reasonable period of time. 3.
Standing Counsel for the respondents contends that the appellate authority will consider the appeal of the petitioner and appropriate orders will be passed.

This Court, having considered the rival submissions made by the parties, is of the considered view that this writ petition can be disposed of directing the appellate authority to consider the appeal preferred by the petitioner on 19.01.2018 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
As a sequel, pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
