THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE SANJAY KUMAR WRIT PETITION No.28832 OF 2012 DATED: 29.06.2015 Between:

Mohammed Tajuddin .. Petitioner And The State of A.P., Rep. by the Principal Secretary Home, and others.

.. Respondents THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE SANJAY KUMAR WRIT PETITION No.28832 of 2012 ORDER:

The grievance of the petitioner in this case was that the police authorities were not issuing him an arms licence under the Arms Act, 1959.

The Inspector of Police, Shivarampally Police Station, Cyberabad Commissionerate, filed a counter-affidavit setting out reasons justifying the said action.

However, as the grievance of the petitioner aired in this writ petition dates back to the year 2012, his entitlement to an arms licence as of now would have to be examined afresh by the police authorities in the context of threat perception, if any, prevailing now. The writ petition is therefore closed leaving it open to the petitioner to apply afresh for grant of an arms licence, if he so chooses. In the event such an application is made, the police authorities shall consider the same on its own merits without reference to the earlier rejection and take appropriate action. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall also stand

closed. No order as to costs.
