HONOURABLE JUSTICE G. SRI DEVI CRIMINAL PETITION No.175 of 2020 ORDER:

1.

This Criminal Petition is filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking to quash S.C.No.173 of 2017 on the file of the learned I Additional District and Sessions Judge, Khammam.

Though at the hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner/ accused reiterated the contents of the affidavit filed in support of the Criminal Petition, he restricts his prayer to give a direction to the trial Court to dispose of the said S.C. expeditiously.

Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that as many as 15 witnesses were to be examined in the present S.C. and therefore, the prayer sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner may be rejected.

In the light of the prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner and as the aforesaid Sessions Case is of the year 2017, the learned I Additional District and Sessions Judge, Khammam, is directed to commence and conclude the trial in S.C.No.173 of 2017 as early as possible, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Subject to the above direction, the Criminal Petition is dismissed. 6.

As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed.
