Learned counsel appearing for petitioner submits that earlier the seniority list used to be prepared by following G.O.Ms.No.1478 dated 17.11.1986. After G.O.Ms.No.888 dated 08.12.2000 came into force, the respondents are bound to prepare seniority list as per G.O.Ms.No.888 dated 08.12.2000, but having failed in doing so, appropriate orders may be passed directing the respondents to prepare seniority list as per G.O.Ms.No.888, dated 08.12.2000. This Court, having considered the submission made by the learned counsel for petitioner, is of the considered view that in view of issuance of G.O.Ms.No.888, dated 08.12.2000, the earlier seniority list prepared in terms of G.O.Ms.No.1478 dated 17.11.1986 has no relevance and the seniority list has to be prepared in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.888, dated 08.12.2000. Therefore, there are no merits in the writ petition and the same is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed. No order as to costs.
