The petitioner, who is A-1 in Crime No.546 of 2014-15 of Prohibition & Excise Police Station, Punganur, Chittoor District, registered for the offence under Section 8 (b) (c) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, filed this petition under Section 438 of Cr.P.C., seeking anticipatory bail. The allegation against the petitioner is that he had supplied Poppy seeds to the farmers along with others. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that basing on the confessional statements made by the other accused, the respondent police are trying to arrest the petitioner. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. In the circumstances, the petitioner-Accused No.
1 is directed to surrender before the Investigating Officer within ten days from today and on such surrender, he shall be enlarged on bail on his executing a personal bond for a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) with two sureties for the like sum each to the satisfaction of the Arresting Officer. Further, the petitioner is directed to report before the Station House Officer concerned, daily for a period of (15) days between 10.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m., and to co-operate with the investigation.
