ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking the following relief: "...to issue a writ, order or direction particularly one in the nature of writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to prepare year-wise panels with the qualified candidates as per the rules for appointment as Principal/ Special Officer in A.P Residential Schools and also directing the respondents to treat the petitioners as regularly promoted to the cadre of Principal/Special Officer in the Zone to which they belong viz., Zone-V with effect from the date when they were promoted as they have been promoted after selection and pass such other order or orders as this Hon'ble Court deems fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."

It is the case of the petitioners that they are working as Special Officers in the respondent-Residential Educational Institutions and that they are fully eligible and qualified for promotion to the post of Principal. When their cases were not considered for promotion, the present writ petition is filed. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that during the pendency of the writ petition, the petitioners have retired from service and that if the cases of the petitioners are considered notionally, they are eligible for attendant benefits in the form of enhanced terminal and other monetary benefits.

Having considered the said submissions, this Writ Petition can be disposed of directing the petitioners to submit a representation to the respondents within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of such representation, the respondents shall consider and pass appropriate orders thereon, in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks thereafter.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed.
