Heard.

Petitioner was granted passport bearing No.K7655630, which was valid upto 12.02.2014. On 03.12.2018, the petitioner applied for re-issue of passport stating that period of validity of earlier passport expired. Alleging inaction in considering the application to re-issue passport, this Writ Petition is filed.

From the material enclosed to Writ Petition, it is seen that on 17.01.2019, Regional Passport Authority requested the petitioner to inform the status of C.C.No.4 of 2003, pending in the Court of Special Judge - cum - Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Nampally, wherein the petitioner is accused. No response was filed by the petitioner and straightaway this Writ Petition is filed.

Learned counsel for the petitioner sought to contend that the petitioner has already informed to the Regional Passport Authority that Criminal Petition, was disposed on 17.12.2018. But a copy of the order is not available. The nature of disposal of the Criminal Petition and whether criminal proceedings pending in C.C.No.4 of 2003 are set aside are not stated by the petitioner even now. The petitioner failed to respond to the request of the regional passport officer to furnish information vide notice dated 17.01.2019. Hence, the petitioner

PNR, J W.P.No.996 of 2019 cannot allege inaction by the regional passport officer in considering the application to re-issue passport.

In view of the above, leaving it open to the petitioner to respond to the notice dated 17.01.2019, the Writ Petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.

As a sequel thereto, Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending, shall stand closed.
