THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.24736 OF 2006 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following relief:- "to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction, more particularly in the nature of writ of mandamus declaring the action of the third respondent in not making the assessment of the property in Sy.No.118 admeasuring Ac.1.07 guntas situated at Bhoktapur locality, Adilabad Town, Mandal & District Adilabad and in not collecting the property tax by allotting the house number as illegal, arbitrary, discriminatory and against principles of natural justice, consequently direct the respondents to assess the land of the petitioner and collect the property tax by allotting door numbers and pass such other order or orders as this Honourable Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case and to meet the ends of justice." 2.

Heard and perused the material available on record. 3.

On 4.4.2015, learned counsel for the petitioner addressed a letter to the Registry with a request to direct the office to post the writ petition before Lok Adalat for settlement. Accordingly, on 8.4.2015, the matter was referred to Lok Adalat for settlement. On 11.4.2015, both parties appeared before the Lok Adalat and an award was passed. Hence, respondent No.3 is directed to consider the case of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in terms of the award, dated 11.4.2015, passed by the Lok Adalat. 4.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
