Chilakamarthi Syama Priyanka v. The Sub-Divisional Police Officer
THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE SANJAY KUMAR WRIT PETITION No.8951 of 2012 ORDER:
The grievance of the petitioner was that the police authorities were not taking steps in Crime No.9 of 2012 registered on the file of Women Police Station, Rajahmundry, East Godavari District. The Sub-Inspector of Police, Rajahmundry Women Police Station, Rajahmundry Urban District, furnished written instructions dated 18.08.2015 to the office of the learned Government Pleader for Home wherein it was stated that upon the complaint lodged by the petitioner against the 3rd respondent and his family members, Crime No.9 of 2012 was registered under Sections 498-A and 506 I.P.C., read with Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, on the file of Mahila Police Station, Rajahmundry Urban. After due investigation, a charge sheet was laid before the learned I Additional Assistant Sessions Judge, Rajahmundry, vide Sessions Case No.327 of 2013. However, after a full-fledged trial, the case ended in the acquittal of the accused on 29.04.2014.
In the light of the aforestated developments, the grievance of the petitioner as to the alleged inaction on the part of the police authorities is shown to be without basis.
The writ petition is accordingly dismissed.
Pending Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, shall also stand dismissed. No order as to costs.
