THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE CHALLA KODANDA RAM CONTEMPT CASE No. 66 OF 2018 O R D E R:

This Contempt Case has been filed complaining wilful disobedience of the order dated 22.09.2017 in Writ Petition No. 30019 of 2017, wherein this Court had directed the 2nd respondent therein to take necessary action pursuant to the proceedings dated 21.04.2017 of the Inspector of Waqf, Chittoor District and communicate the decision taken on the aspect as to whether the committee constituted under the presidentship of P. State along with other ten members is eligible to be included in the voters list or not.

Today, when the matter is taken up, learned Senior Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent submits that as a matter of fact, the representation of the petitioner was disposed of by order dated 02.01.2018. It is further submitted that the petitioner represented by the present Advocate had, in fact, filed Writ Petition No. 3117 of 2018 challenging the order dated 02.01.2018 and the said Writ Petition was also dismissed vide order dated 01.02.2018. Hence, it cannot be said that there is any wilful disobedience on the part of the respondent, asserts the learned Senior Counsel. In those circumstances, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, since the representation of the petitioner has been considered and disposed of on 02.01.2018, recording the submission made by the learned Senior Counsel, the Contempt Case is closed.
