This petition is filed seeking for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner, who is the accused in Crime No.175 of 2017 on the file of Amrabad Police Station, Nagarkurnool. The offences alleged are under Sections 376(1) and 417 IPC. 2.

Heard the counsel for the petitioner and the Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

The counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent and that he did not commit the alleged offences. 4.

A perusal of the complaint shows that the petitioner has promised to marry a victim girl and had forceful sexual intercourse with her and later, when she became pregnant, he asked her to get the pregnancy terminated.

Hence, prima facie, it appears that the petitioner has committed the alleged offences. The nature of the offences does not entitle the petitioner for an anticipatory bail. 6.

With the above observations, the Criminal Petition is dismissed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to file a petition before the court below seeking for regular bail. As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications, if any pending, shall stand closed.
