Vidya Rani v. Mr N N Reddy
THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTI CE SANJAY KUMAR AND THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTI CE P.KESHAVA RAO CONTEMPT CASE No.96 OF 2019 ORDER:
(Per Sanjay Kumar, J) This Contempt Case was instituted alleging willful disobedience to the common order dated 09.11.2018 passed by a division bench of the High Court for the States of Telangana and the Andhra Pradesh, in so far as it relates to Writ Petition No.28822 of 2018. As per the said order, the NCC Directorate was required to pay compensation of Rs.3.00 lakhs to each of the Writ Petitioners. Alleging that she had not been paid, the petitioner in W.P.No.28822 of 2018 filed this Contempt Case.
Sri Raghavendra Reddy, learned counsel representing Sri K.Lakshman, the learned Assistant Solicitor General for India, appearing for the respondent, the Deputy Director General of the NCC Directorate, would inform this Court that Bankers Cheque bearing No.872155 dated 14.8.2019 drawn on State Bank of India, in the name of the petitioner, for a sum of Rs.3.00 lakhs is now available with him and that the same would be handed over to the petitioner or her learned counsel, as the case may be. Sri Shaik Jilani Basha, learned counsel representing Sri R.Gopala Krishna, learned counsel for the petitioner, states that he is instructed to accept the Bankers Cheque. The said cheque is accordingly handed over to the learned counsel in the open Court.
In the light of this development, the cause in this Contempt Case no longer survives for consideration on merits.
The Contempt Case is accordingly closed. No order as to costs. ----------------------- SANJAY KUMAR, J.
