Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Social Welfare appearing for respondents 1 and 2.
This Writ Petition is filed seeking to declare the action of the second respondent in not considering the representation of the petitioner dated 20.10.2014 for promotion to the post of Assistant Secretary (Administration) as arbitrary and illegal.
The petitioner was appointed as Typist on 17.11.1983 on regular basis in the 2nd respondentsociety. Subsequently, he was promoted as Senior Assistant on 3.5.1988 and on 26.11.1998 as Superintendent and is working as such. In the seniority list prepared by the 2nd respondent, he was placed at serial No.4 and is eligible for the post of Assistant Secretary. Hence, he made a representation to the 2nd respondent on 20.10.2014, but so far no orders have been passed.
Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, the 2nd respondent is directed to dispose of the representation dated 20.10.2014 made by the
petitioner and pass appropriate orders thereon within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
