This writ petition is filed, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for the following relief: "to issue a Writ order or direction, more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus, declaring the action of the 2nd respondent in not releasing the seized stock of 192.50 quintals of rice seized on 06.04.2011 nor paying the value of the seized stock to the petitioner inspite of his acquittal in criminal prosecution in CC No.273/2011 as illegal, arbitrary and contrary to the provisions of the Section 6-C(2) of the Essential Commodities Act, and consequently direct the 2nd respondent to release the stock of 192.50 quintals of rice seized on 06.04.2011 or pay the value of the seized stock as provided under Section 6-C(2) of the Essential Commodities Act, to the writ petitioner, and pass." 2.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Civil Supplies for the respondents. 3.

When the matter is called, it is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner herein submitted an application before the Joint Collector, Kurnool, on 19.12.2015, for redressal of his grievance, under Section 6C(2) of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 and no orders have been passed on the said application.

On the otherhand, it is submitted by the learned Government Pleader that appropriate orders will be passed on the said application, in accordance with law, by the Joint Collector.

Recording the said submission, this writ petition is disposed of, without expressing any opinion on the merits and demerits of the matter, directing the Joint Collector, Kurnool - 2nd respondent herein, to pass appropriate orders on the application dated 19.12.2015, said to have been submitted by the petitioner herein, vide Rc.CS1 E.C.No.40/2011, dated 19.12.2015, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.

Miscellaneous petitions pending consideration, if any, in this case shall stand closed in consequence. No order as to costs.
