CVNR, J WP 26325/2007 ORDER:
This writ petition is filed for the following substantive relief: "...to issue a writ, order or direction, more particularly one in the nature of writ of mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in dispensing with the services of the petitioners as Junior Lineman/Shift Operator in 33/11 KV SubStation, Rajupalem, Guntur District, as highly illegal, arbitrary and violative of Articles 14 and 16 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondents to continue the services of the petitioners as Junior Lineman/Shift Operator in 33/11 KV Sub-station, Rajupalem, Guntur District, by protecting continuance of source of livelihood."
A perusal of the proceedings sheet shows that on 10.12.2007 this Court has granted an interim direction to the respondents to continue the petitioners as contract labour. At the hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioners is unable to state as to whether his clients were being continued as contract labour or not. In the absence of any instructions on this aspect and having regard to the long lapse of time after filing of the writ petition, the same is disposed of as infructuous. As a sequel to disposal of the writ petition, W.P.M.P. No.34344 of 2007 shall stand disposed of as infructuous.
