This writ petition is filed for a mandamus, declaring the action of the respondents in discharging the services of the petitioners with effect from 22.07.2006, vide proceedings, dated 22.07.2006, as illegal and arbitrary, and consequently direct the respondents to reinstate the petitioner into service with all consequential benefits. Since the husband of the petitioner died in harness on 01.12.1988, she was appointed on compassionate grounds on 25.07.1989. However, in view of the policy decision taken by the respondents, the services of the writ petitioner were retrenched. Therefore, the present writ petition came to be filed. This Court by an interim order, dated 28.07.2006, which was made absolute on 19.02.2007, suspended the retrenchment order, and directed the respondents to continue the services of the petitioner. Pursuant to the said direction of this court, the petitioner is being continued as such till date.

On behalf of the respondents, it is submitted that they do not intend to terminate the services of the writ petitioner any more and her services will be continued, as has been directed by this court. In view of the above submission, made on behalf of the respondents, the Writ Petition is allowed, as prayed for. No order as to costs.

Pending miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed in consequence.
