O R D E R

The grievance of the petitioners is that the respondent authorities having issued notification on 15.05.2018, under Section 11 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, are not proceeding further and completing the process of acquisition.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners. Learned Assistant Government Pleader, representing the office of learned Additional Advocate General, submits that statute provides a period of one year for completion of acquisition process, with a provision for seeking further extension. He further submits that the project is linked with the funding by the Central Government and it would take some time. He submits that the project would be completed within the period provided under the statute.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case and the respective submissions, and as the petitioners are being deprived of their valuable property, which would be affecting their livelihood, respondents shall complete the process of acquisition in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.

Writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
