ORDER

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner contended that against the order dated 26-11-2019 passed by the 3rd respondent under Section 7-A of the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, (for short 'the Act'), the petitioner has preferred review under Section 7-B of the Act and the same is pending before the 3rd respondent. The 3rd respondent, without passing any orders on the review, is taking steps to attach the property of the petitioner. It is prayed that appropriate orders be passed in the writ petition directing the 3rd respondent to pass orders on the review and unless and until an order is passed, the respondents be directed not to take any coercive steps against the petitioner.

Having considered the rival submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court is of the considered view that the writ petition can be disposed of directing the 3rd respondent to pass orders on the review filed by the petitioner, in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Till then, the 3rd respondent is directed not to take any coercive steps against the petitioner.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending, shall stand closed.
