Heard. With the consent of both the counsel, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage. 2.

Petitioner took voluntary retirement from service in Andhra Bank with effect from 31.01.2011. After the retirement, petitioner submitted representation for exercising option under the Pension Scheme, praying to grant pension as applicable/extended to similarly situated persons. The first representation was made on 26.12.2012 followed by reminder on 18.03.2013 and thereafter on 04.12.2014 a legal notice was issued on behalf of the petitioner. 3.

By letter dated 26.12.2012 the Senior Branch Manager informed the General Manager, Zonal Office, Andhra Bank, Hyderabad, requesting to consider the request of the petitioner favourably. Further correspondence dated 04.01.2013 addressed to the petitioner would show that the Bank wants clarification with regard to extension of pension scheme with the Indian Banks Association.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that so far no clarification is issued.

Having regard to these submissions, without expressing any opinion on merits and preserving the defence of the respondentBank, this writ petition is disposed of, directing the General Manager concerned of the respondent-Bank to inform the

petitioner on the status of his claim for admitting him to Pension Scheme for grant of pension, on the representations submitted by him on various dates mentioned above. A decision to this extent should be communicated to the petitioner, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
