Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for Civil Supplies.

The husband of the petitioner by name K. Sathyanarayana Gupta was appointed as Fair Price Shop dealer of shop No.5, Anatapur Urban, Anantapur District in the year 1982 and due to illhealth he died on 15.11.2014. The petitioner who is wife of K.Sathyanarayana Gupta made an application to the authorities to appoint her as dealer of the said Fair Price Shop on compassionate grounds in terms of G.O.Ms.No.4, Consumer Affairs, Food and Civil Supplies (CS-I) dated 28.2.2014. G.O.Ms.No.4 prescribes eligibility criteria for appointment of Fair Price Shop dealer on compassionate grounds. It is submitted that since the husband of the petitioner expired on 15.11.2014, the petitioner made representations to the authorities on 9.2.2015 and 20.3.2015 as per said G.O.

Under these circumstances, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider and dispose of the representations dated 9.2.2015 and 20.3.2015 by passing appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, in accordance with law. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage. Miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed.
