T.Venkateswarlu v. A.P.Genco Rep.By Its Chairma And Managing Director
THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE ABHINAND KUMAR SHAVILI WRIT PETITION No.24415 of 2002 ORDER:
When the matter is taken up for hearing, it is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners are working on contract basis as Drivers with the respondent-Corporation and their services deserves to be regularized.
2.
Learned Standing Counsel for the respondent-Corporation contended that the practice of purchasing the vehicles and appointing drivers is dispensed with; that presently as a policy, the respondents are taking vehicles on hire basis and the question of continuing the petitioners as Drivers would not arise and their services were dispensed with long time back.
3.
This Court, having considered the rival submissions made by the parties, is of the considered view that at this point of time no direction can be given to regularize the services of the petitioners, more so, when learned Standing Counsel for the respondentCorporation has contended that the services of the petitioners are not being continued.
4.
In view of the same, there is no merit in the writ petition and the same is liable to be dismissed.
5.
Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. Miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
