THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE ABHINAND KUMAR SHAVILI WRIT PETITION No.2223 of 2019 ORDER:

When the mater is taken up for hearing, counsel for the petitioner had contended that the petitioner's application for renewal of passport was closed vide orders dated 07.11.2017. Therefore, counsel for the petitioner contended that appropriate orders be passed in the writ petition directing the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for grant of passport.

Sri B. Jithender, Standing Counsel for Central Government, appearing for the respondents had informed the Court that the petitioner's file for renewal of passport has been closed and it is always open for the petitioner to apply for fresh passport by furnishing all the details and thereupon the respondents will consider the same and issue the passport in accordance with the Rules, if the petitioner is otherwise eligible.

In view of the above submissions of Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, the writ petition is closed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to apply for fresh passport by furnishing all the details and thereupon the respondents shall consider the same and issue the passport in accordance with the Rules, if the petitioner is otherwise eligible. No order as to costs.

Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. ______________________________ ABHINAND KUMAR SHAVILI, J 10th February, 2020 v v
