Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, learned Government Pleader for General Administration and the learned Government Pleader for Revenue.

2. This writ petition is filed seeking writ of mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in not releasing the death-cum-terminal benefits to the petitioner, as illegal and arbitrary and for a consequential direction to the respondents to release the same to the petitioner forthwith.

3. The petitioner's husband B. Krishna, who was working as Binder in the office of the 2nd respondent, died on 10.01.2014 leaving behind the petitioner and two daughters (married) while in service. According to the petitioner, she is entitled for the death benefits but in spite of her repeated requests, the 2nd respondent has not been paying the death cum terminal benefits such as Provident Fund, gratuity etc. to the petitioner. The petitioner submitted all the relevant documents, but no action has been taken by the respondents. Ultimately, the petitioner submitted representation dated 28.06.2014 to the 2nd respondent for payment of death cum terminal benefits, but so far there was no response from the 2nd respondent.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 28.06.2014 made by the petitioner, where under she sought release of death cum terminal benefits, such as family pension, provident fund, gratuity etc., and pass appropriate orders thereon within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Miscellaneous applications, if any, in this writ
