ORAL ORDER:
Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned standing counsel for Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board. 2.
According to petitioner, pursuant to recruitment notification issued by Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board dated 31.5.2018, he has participated in the selections and secured requisite merit for appointment to any one of the posts notified including the post of Warders (Male) in Prisons & Correctional Services Department. Petitioner is aggrieved by not including his name in the final list and deputing him for training. Petitioner claims that he belongs to BC-D (General), for which cut off marks prescribed was 120 whereas, he secured 122 marks and he has to be included in the final list. 3.
When the matter is taken up for consideration, learned standing counsel for respondent Board submits that petitioner was earlier selected for the post of Police Constable (Civil) but he was found over-aged for the said post whereas he is within the age prescribed for post of Warders (Male) and as per the merit, he is entitled to be considered. He would submit that due to oversight earlier his consideration was confined only to the post of Police Constable (Civil) and he was not considered for the post of Warders (Male) and respondent Board is in the process of consideration of his case and recommending him for appointment as Warder (Male). He would submit that respondent Board will take a decision within one week.

In view of the statement of the learned standing counsel, learned counsel for petitioner requested for disposal of the writ petition by giving suitable directions.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent Board to take immediate steps to recommend the name of petitioner for appointment to the post of Warders (Male) in Prisons and Correctional Services within a period of one week from the date of receipt of copy of this order. On receipt of such recommendation, the second respondent-Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services shall depute the petitioner for training along with other candidates deputed for training scheduled to commence from 24.2.2020.
