ORDER: (Per the Hon'ble the Chief Justice Sri Raghvendra Singh Chauhan) Mr. P. Ranjith Kumar, the petitioner, has filed the present Habeas Corpus Writ Petition, inter alia, on the ground that his wife, Sneha Priya, is being illegally detained by her father, N. Sadhu Vedanandam, the respondent No.5, and by her brother, Sampath Kumar, the respondent No.6, in Bangalore. In compliance of the order dated 04.07.2019, the Station House Officer, Hayathnagar Police Station, has produced the detenue before this Court.

This Court has had an occasion to speak to Mrs. Sneha Priya. She informs this Court that she is the wife of the petitioner. She further informs this Court that she is thirty-five years old young lady. Due to the ill treatment meted out at the hands of the petitioner, she claims that she has gone into depression. Subsequently, she, on her volition, left her matrimonial home, to stay with her father and brother, the respondent Nos.5 and 6 respectively. She further informs this Court that she has no desire to go back to the petitioner, and wishes to continue staying with her father and brother. Since Ms. Sneha Priya is a major, since she has no desire to stay with the petitioner, but wants to continue staying with the respondent Nos.5 and 6, she is free to go with respondent Nos.5 and 6, who are present in the Court.

For the reasons stated above, this Court does not find any merit in the present Habeas Corpus Writ Petition; it is hereby dismissed.
